In 2009, Jason was injured on the job and required six months away from work to recover.  During this time, he spent time at the Deer Park Monastery in Escondido CA and focused on his Buddhist practice. 

It was during his intensive meditation that he realized he could produce a solo CD using digital technologies found on just his laptop computer.  He composed and arranged several pieces while at the monastery, and recorded bass and vocal tracks, finished the mastering and graphic design upon his return home.  He released his first solo project entitled, The Eye of the Beholder under a modified version of the name of his first solo group, Tal Maya ~ Beat Illusion in 2009.
